BIOGRAPHY

Blues Infused Rock & Soul!!!

James Harman Quote.jpg

Jessica started her professional music career at the age of 17, playing in bands & performing in recording studios as a teenager.

She is a multi instrumentalist & singer who's main instrument is guitar, but also plays piano, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.

Her earliest guitar influence was Jimi Hendrix- she had been taking piano lessons at the time, when she saw Hendrix on television and it completely changed her world. She immediately stopped piano lessons and started playing guitar, digging deep into the blues of Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Robert Johnson, and the British blues of John Mayall and Eric Clapton. Later heroes were David Gilmour, Wes Montgomery, soul legend Steve Cropper, along with contemporary players such as Johnny Marr from The Smiths, and U2's The Edge. Chet Atkins & Link Wray came soon after as she delved more into the roots of early rock and roll.

She's worked in various seminal bands around Los Angeles and Orange County, playing music ranging from blues to surf/lounge & rockabilly, indie rock & pop punk, with bands such as; "Russell Scott & The Red Hots", "The Busstop Hurricanes",
backing band for Tom Kenny (a.k.a SpongeBob Squarepants) on comedy tours & appears on a featured song with Tom on the Cartoon Network, "Bourbon Jones" (with drummer Steven Hodges of Tom Waits band & also John Hammond Jr.), some guest appearances with The Blue Shadows (featuring members of The Blasters), & "Greg Antista & The Lonely Streets". Most recently she has been teaming up with her fellow Gretsch Guitars endorsed artist and friend from across the pond- Mr. Ruzz Evan's (Guitar) & his Blues Revue, straight from England, doing shows all over SoCal.

Jessica has touring history in the U.S, & has had the pleasure of being on the bill (with various acts) opening for world-renown musicians such as Chuck Berry, Joe Strummer of The Clash, Mike Ness of Social Distortion, The Reverend Horton Heat, Dwight Yoakum, The Nelson Brothers, & jamming with the legendary artist Prince.

She is also a music composer on movie soundtracks for films in Brazil, and most recently a documentary in the U.S. about a Hollywood golden age public relations agent entitled "David Mirisch- The Man Behind The Golden Stars", that has won several awards on the Film Festival circuit here in America.

Jessica and her band are currently in the studio finishing her debut album, entitled "Dark & Light", that will be released in the beginning of fall of this year.
